Can you charge ultraxion

Throughout the fight, Alexstrasza, Ysera, and Kalecgos will provide assistance in the form of buffs for the healers, Each of these buffs can only be given to one healer at a time, so decide wisely who should get them. Periodically throughout the fight Ultraxion will cast Fading Light on the tank and one for man, three for man other player s. Each affected player will get a debuff with a timer between 5 and 9 seconds.

If the player is still in the twilight realm when the buff expires they die. To avoid this use Heroic Will to exit the twilight realm when the buff has around 3 seconds remaining. Since Heroic Will only lasts 5 seconds if you use it too early you will return to the twilight realm in time to be killed by Fading Light. If you do not use it at all you will be killed by Fading Light. For difficulty levels other than LFR, a certain number of players must remain in the twilight realm during Hour of Twilight and be exposed to massive damage to avoid a wipe.

In man normal the default tactic is to have the tanks take turns because Last Defender of Azeroth guarantees that every properly-specced tank has an appropriate second survival cooldown. For man or heroic this means that some non-tank players who can survive a , point hit must remain in the twilight realm and absorb the Hour of Twilight. The major complicating factor in heroic mode is the Looming Darkness.

A player who suffers Hour of Twilight during a heroic encounter is afflicted by Looming Darkness which lasts for 2 minutes. If a player with Looming Darkness suffers another Hour of Twilight they are instantly killed. This means that players in heroic mode can not absorb an Hour of Twilight more than once every 3 casts or they will die which is still preferrable to wiping. Building a successful cooldown rotation and actually executing it can be quite confusing if you don't have enough [ Anti-Magic Shell ].

Consult the following chart to help you choose a rotation:. Keep in mind that especially in 25m raids, external single-target and raid cooldowns can also be used to keep players alive, especially non-tanks that are required to soak. Depending on your raid composition, multiple cooldowns may need to be stacked to ensure every player's survival. The Heroic Will effect can be bound to the "Extra Action" keybinding.

If you use an addon that changes your interface, this may prevent trouble with the button. That way, you survive, and you spend as little time as possible away from dealing damage. The tank ones have longer durations and shorter cooldowns for this fight. The reduced stress on the healers matters. The entire raid should be bunched up in front of the boss for AoE heals, bubbles, etc. Comment by Will Twilight Eruption hit through Timeloop and instantly wipe the whole raid regardless at the 6 minute timer?

Comment by Superchief So for 25 man is it about a 30k minimum consistent dps, to beat the enrage? Per dps member? Comment by Hanz0 Note that him, unlike other boses with huge hitbox that are static and cannot be moved only turned, cannot be hit from the back regardless of how much your tank faces him away from you. Kinda disappointing for some melees. Comment by mstieler Note: Feral Druids are your friend in this fight. HoT hits every 45 sec so: 1. Feral s 2.

Anyone else 3. Feral s 4. Anyone else else 5. Feral s 6. Anyone more elser 7. Feral s We discovered this the hard way when our Feral offtank began the fight in Cat form for some additional DPS. Comment by We found that if our tanks use their CDs before Thrall casts the buff then they get instantly refreshed. Once the raid has weakened soul, just PoH spam times and repeat.

Haven't had a chance to test in man, but I'd assume you could just spam your heart out. Also, Divine Hymn is kinda crazy at this level of haste. Comment by The following power aura will place a fading light timer near your feet so you know when to phase out of the twilight realm.

As long as you're near topped off, AMS alone can handle all of the other casts. And mostly for fun, Last Defender of Azeroth resets the cooldown of every ability it effects when it's first cast on you, and with the short delay before it goes active, you can just pop every single cooldown at the start of teh fight and then have them immediately reset.

Comment by Xedosz We actually found this to be much easier with 2 good, geared healers on 10 man. Since the duration of the last part after Timeloop , which is arguably the hardest part of the fight, is considerably shorter with an extra dps.

Heck, with improved Recuperate they can probably self-heal it too. We'll have to wait and see how it'll end up being, but i suspect that it'll be like Theralion and valiona heroic : if you have a good sub rogue the fight is extremely simplified. We just killed this boss on man moments ago with 2 tanks, 3 healers and 5 damage dealers. Average ilvl of the whole raid was maybe We had a Restoration shaman picking up all the buffs. Pretty easy and fun fight once you get the hang of it!

Good luck! Comment by Green buff is awesome for Resto Shamans. Essence of Dreams: 4 healing done which was Cheers, As. Comment by Hoofen We made several attempts last night using both the 1 tank and 2 tank methods and also 2 heals and 3 heals methods. We have a couple new members in our 10 man team so we had other issues but our best attempts were with 2 tanks and 2 heals. The poster that said the one tank method would allow for the tank to click the button at the last second and get back into taunt was not kidding when he said it had to be flawless.

Everytime we tried this the tank was able to time it correct but there is 10 seconds with no theat so he was able to taunt as soon as he came out but after the 3 seconds were up the boss would turn and one-shot a dps. So we stuck with the 2 tank method for a few attempts we wiped due to lack of dps everytime so we went with two heals and we were very close on the last couple attempts for the night. Our best attempt was less then 2mil health so my opinion is if your healers can handle it this seems like a viable strat.

Comment by Baskosvk Done it this week. This fight has a very easy tactic, so its just test of your DPS. It should be done with 2 tanks and 3 healers, but it seems ours DPS was not high enough for this. So we tried to change numbers of tanks and healers, we tried it with 1 tank and 3 healers, 2 tanks and 2 healers, but it didnt work. So we tried do it on 1 tank and 2 healers, just for fun: and it worked.

Killed in 5 minutes and 10 sec, with average dps about k tank had 18k. But there is a lot of things that can ruin your fight. Tank need to wait on Fading Light to last second, so a little connection problem may kill him, also often happen that some DPS get melee hit from boss as tank loose threath after fading light, if this DPS is some ranged basicaly anybody who doesnt wear plate its often instant kill.

And as it usually is, when someone die in 10 man its over. But it can be done, so if you have too low DPS for this try it :. Comment by arkensis For Damage dealers who are new to this fight, pay close attention to the cast time of Hour of Twilight and to the debuff timer on Fading Light.

You will substantially reduce the amount of damage you do in the fight if you use Heroic Will too early. Heroic Will lasts for 5 seconds, and is instant cast - if you cast it during the last second of the Hour of Twilight cast or of the Fading Light debuff, you'll put yourself out of commission for a much smaller amount of time. Over the course of the fight, this could mean actively causing damage for an additional 30 seconds or more.

Multiply that 30 seconds by 5 or 6 damage dealers, and you might find yourselves able to down Ultraxion. Comment by The macro above will not work if you are casting, and it has been the cause for many wipes. Comment by Conduras just killed him for the first time in 10 man , probably the best tank here is DK. Comment by martanius This is easy encouter, if you have good heal and DPS and all know what to do. So what you need to do is : - Boss will debuff you with this spell, duration is seconds so if you have this debuff use Heroic Will you will be 5 seconds in normal realm and debuff MUST expire in normal realm!

So activate the Heroic Will when will less than 5 seconds remaining so seconds then use Heroic Will. Hour of Twilight - Boss will sometime cast this spell, so when will three quarters left in boss's cast bar use Heroic Will! Have boss in Focus Target, so you will see if he cast Hour of Twilight , so use Heroic Will when will three quarters left in boss's cast bar. Keep eye on boss's cast bar, Hour of Twilight , activate Heroic Will when will three quarters left in boss's cast bar. Tactic for HC is very similar as normal tactic.

Just all goes very very faster than normal. What you need? Tank Thinks are same as on normal but there are some differences. All goes very faster 2. Heal Be focus and heal targets who have. Damage Show your best again and if you have use Heroic Will and let expire in normal realm. This is because of bosses Hour of Twilight hits everyone who is not in normal realm, including aspects!

It means that atleast 2 ppls on 25HC 3 ppls must stay in twilight realm when boss does Hour of Twilight. So if you are on one of these groups you must stay on twilight realm dont press Heroic Will and use your defense spells. So when boss does 1st Heroic Will so first group stay in twilight realm, 2nd Heroic Will second group stay in twilight realm but not same group as in 1st and when boss cast Hour of Twilight 3rd time so third group stay in twilight realm but not same group as in first two Hour of Twilight.

Then all around. Sorry for my english :D I think that it isn't very good. Comment by Euphemia Well, learn to click that button, please - and time it up nicely so you don't mess up!

Here's us doing the achievement Minutes to Midnight on Ultraxion - there are instructions in the video as well, so it might serve for tips for anyone wanting to get this guy on farm. Mind you, the achievement way of doing it is not optimal. Have as few people eat the Hour of Twilight as you can - as you're less prone to errors that way. One thing not mentioned in the video, is that we have our tanks taunt off each other as soon as Fading Light is applied on the current tank. That way it works out nicely for the swaps back and forth.

Comment by Mongatsumi Last Defender of Azeroth reset's all defensive cooldowns affected by it when it goes out. So burn all your cooldowns in the beginning tanks!

Comment by Moridethenar Healers may want to know that you are able to use your special ability for this fight Heroic Will while channeling a Potion of Concentration and you will NOT be interrupted. In fact you will continue to channel mana regeneration for the duration of Heroic Will, as well as after Heroic Will is removed.

Comment by rilgania Yet another 10m heroic guide It is by no means supposed to be the "best" way to do it, it merely was the best solution for OUR raid! Setup - 2 Tanks death knight, druid - 2 Healers druid, priest - 6 DDs 2 hunter, mage, rogue, warlock, priest General This fight is hardly any different from normal mode and has only a few changes: You'll need to rotate up to 6 people per Hour of Twilight, 2 each.

The group will most likely not survive the last 30 secs before enrage for long. We used Ancient Hysteria after the 6th hour of twilight because of that.

Assignements Healers: druid took red, priest green. The druid would switch to blue once he couldn't sustain the raid with hots any longer most likely after the 5th hour of twilight. Hour of twilight: hunter, hunter feral druid, shadow priest rogue, death knight The mage was backup. Comment by tadelle An easy fight , but you have to be careful about boss abilities. Our setup contains a priest and a holy paladin me as healers. From a healer POV , you just have to watch 2 things.

Most people think , Essence of Dreams has the most benefits for a holy paladin but i have to disagree with that. After 4. Because raid damage is high, haste is the best secondary stat , and Holy Radiance is effected with haste. So Source of Magic is the best choice for a paladin. Comment by More an abomination of dark energy than a dragon, Ultraxion has spent his short life absorbing the essence of captured nether dragons. Ultraxion is the only twilight dragon Deathwing has praised, and his arrogance is overshadowed only by the crackling energies surging through his twisted form.

Loyal to his master, Ultraxion swears to bring about the fall of Wyrmrest Temple. Comment by citrique Amusingly, this boss is the best training dummy in the game. Queue Fall of Deathwing with Raid Finder, and you get put in a full man raid group which is most likely going to have all the necessary buffs and debuffs you need for optimal DPS.

There's a few minutes of trash associated with the RP event but since this is the first boss of the latter Dragon Soul segment, there's little wait time involved. You can also use this boss to have DPS races with friends, test out new specs and goofy theories, etc. Comment by Baskosvk one tip, its good if you go on 2 tanks, when off tank take dmg equip. I tried it, and it was very good. Let one tank have the boss all time, and off tank only take strikes when main go away when gets Fading Light, so he survive in dmg eqp with no problems.

I also stayed on all Hour of Twillight as prot pala , to gain some vengence :. Done it like that, killed in and as a tank a I done 23k dps:. Comment by crzy The essence of dreams will add up all healing done within one second and distribute it evenly over all raid members. Therefore, you are half right. This makes the green buff less attractive to disc priests and, to a lesser extent, holy paladins whom both have a significant healing through absorbs which are not accounted for in the green buff.

Comment by villainae Alright, I've heard many conflicting answers, but nothing definitive. Comment by A quick note re-feral droods against this boss. I achieve 21k dps throughout DS except for Ultraxion.

As a result I keep taking flak from other players who seem to know my class better than me. My DPS relies on attacks from behind, my talents,Glyphs and macros are built to suit. Ultraxion is also immune to at least one of my attacks that I know of As a result my overall DPS suffers, my finishing moves take longer to stack up and I lose macro time. I could re glyph However thats a lot of messing about for what is an easy boss in LFR.

Please have patience and don't threaten to kick your feral drood after this boss. Ive been threatened like this twice now despite the boss being defeated easily with no deaths. We all bring different strokes to LFR groups so get off those high horses and enjoy :. Comment by Note: Ultraxion is unable to parry but still able to dodge. Took me a while to find that out from various forums, as I couldn't see any info about this on here.

Comment by Iroared Since my previous comment misteriously disappeared, I'll post it again. Certain addons will hide the Heroic Will button - if, after you are pulled into twilight, you don't see the button, here are the three things you can do. The only drawback is that the button will remain visible after the boss is dead and will keep re-appearing until you reload UI.

Comment by seems also that being in tanking stance bear form, blood presence, defensive stance and righteous fury on identify you as a tank and let you get Last Defender of Azeroth. Comment by In heroic mode when you are hit by you will also get a debuff called Looming Darkness which prevents your from eating again until the debuff is gone. If no players are in melee range of Ultraxion he will cast Twilight Burst on the raid and wipe you. In heroic mode you will also need to leave 2 players out for on 10 man or Ultraxion will cast Twilight Eruption.

After 5 minutes Nozdormu will buff the raid with Timeloop which will help the healers deal with the increased damage from Unstable Monstrosity. Comment by Namnalia Tactics for 10m heroic: You'll need 2 Tanks and healers I strongly recommend 2. Changes from normal mode: The boss has 85 HP Hour of Twilight must hit at least two players and deals damage The cast time of Hour of Twilight and the Fading light debuff are shorter Hour of Twilight leaves a 2-Minute debuff killing you when you take another Hour of Twilight You'll get Hour of Twilight at , , , , , , and The last Hour of Twilight is immediately followed by a raid-wiping cast.

However, this assumes to reach the mark alive, which is nearly impossible with 2 healers, so for 2-healer setups the time of the kill should be around , meaning about k RDPS. Healers will be able to DPS within the first minute of the fight, a Discipline Priest can even keep smiting during the second minute.

However, seen on the whole fight length, this is hardly worth 10k dps and does not really make or break it in most cases. A lot more important than that are the tank's DPS which will persist throughout the fight. Reaching more than 20k really helps to beat the encounter a lot.

Hour of Twilight has to hit two players where "hit" just means you have to be in the twilight realm, so Pala bubble is fine and you can only take every third one. As you will need your tank's raid CD in the last minute of the fight, your tank s have to go first or at least second.

The best classes for this are obviously those that don't take any damage, like Rogues with CloS, Paladins with bubble, Hunters with Deterrence or Shadow Priests with Dispersion. Holy Paladins really shine here with Holy Radiance, the second spot is up to you we took a Discipline priest for Pain Suppression and Smite damage, but it wasn't really needed. We had some unnecessary wipes to Fading light before we established a "always press before 1s left" rule. You just don't want to lose tries to this, rather die to the enrage timer which we never even saw.

The 10m version is rather easy in my opinion took us less than 20 tries, a lot less than, for example, Yor'sahj , looking forward to hear complaints from the 25m-raiders! Have fun! Boss died after 3 and a half minutes without using Heroism. Stick with the red buff for the whole fight, use a lot of Holy Radiance and mix in a few Holy Shocks for mana efficiency. Obviously stick with Light Of Dawn over Word Of Glory - it transfers to the beacon which will keep the tank alive no problem.

You should have absolutely no mana issues and your HPS will be more than sufficient to keep the raid topped up most of the time. I highly recommend this tactic to any groups who might be finding this boss challenging. We will be attempting to solo heal it on Heroic next week as that too is a viable strategy.

Comment by GeneralK im sure this has been pointed out before but just so u know " fading light debuff on players can appear hidden inbetween your own buffs " in some cases or if your ui gets screwed up.

Thread Tools. Normally, you use this spell to dodge Ultraxion's instant death mechanics, such as Fading Light and Hour of Twilight. I won't bother to explain the fight mechanics to you, but I will show you a macro that isn't intended, and breaks the fight and removes the difficulty almost entirely.

Have people who receive too much damage spam this macro: Code:. Say whaaaat?! Elite, rep and wish for a slow fix! I'll test it tomorrow! Reporting back! If this works, move to elite asap. On Ultraxion now, will report back.
